June 4th   -  How to Write a Winning Resume in 2015

A resume is a marketing document, not a detailed account of your work history. In this session, participants will understand what employers are looking for when they review resumes, and how to stand out in a crowded job market. In addition to learning how to format resumes, participants will leave the workshop with the skills and knowledge necessary to create effective bullet points that showcases their true value. Participants will have an opportunity to ask specific questions about their own resumes and will leave with the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to create a winning resume in 2015.

June 11th -  Getting a Job Using LinkedIn

LinkedIn is the second best way to land a job nowadays. The best way to land a job is through employee referrals, which you can get through LinkedIn. Your LinkedIn profile is your online image. When people view your LinkedIn profile, they are inviting you into their home or office without your permission, which is a good thing. You want to make sure your LinkedIn profile represents who you are and showcases the value you can add to an employer, individual, or organization. In this workshop, participants will understand how to create a professional yet personable LinkedIn profile, and how to network with professional to land a new job.

June 18th -  Writing the Perfect Cover Letter for ANY Job

The cover letter is your first interview. If you had 500 words to convince someone to hire you, what would you say? It's an argumentative essay and an opportunity to persuade the employer to invite you in for an interview. There's no such thing as a generic cover letter in 2015 because your competition will tailor their cover letter to the specifications listed in the job description, and so should you. There is a formula to creating an effective cover letter in which participants will learn in this workshop. Participants will learn how to write the perfect cover letter regardless of the career field or industry by merging their experience with exact words and phrases from job descriptions.

June 25th -  Extremely Effective Interviewing 101

The interview is your opportunity to seal the deal. If you've made it to the interview, employers believe you are qualified enough to get the job, but this is your opportunity to exceed their expectations. If you get invited to the interview, the job is yours to lose. If you don't get hired, it’s because you haven't communicated your value effectively enough. Participants will understand how to prepare for an interview, how to conduct themselves during an interview, and how to follow up properly after an interview. Participants will also gain understanding of how to answer tough questions and will have the opportunity to discuss their own experience in interviewing. After you've communicated your value effectively enough in your written documents (resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile), you can seal the deal by communicating effectively in person during the interview process.
